Kev Adams night goblins

Happy orctober everyone! Kev Adams' goofy night goblins were the figures I most fell in love with back in the 90's, but of course I couldn't afford the metal ones and then the figure ranges moved on pretty quickly. I've collected a figure here, a figure there for decades and I painted maybe half of this lot already in the late 00's. This summer I took it upon myself to finally paint what I had accumulated and tune up the models I had previously done to match my current painting style. These took quite a few nights of painting but I'm quite happy with how they turned out. I still need to catch the goblin flipping the bird though, I don't feel the collection is complete without him...

Helm's deep table complete

Ok, so this table is sort of a compromise. I have the official resin GW walls of Helm's deep and I wanted to use that in a 4x4 table. I also didn't want to do a dedicated detailed layout but rather something that would be easy to take apart and store. I also wanted the hill the hornburg stands on to be something I can use with other tables.

In the end this project ended up including bought pieces, 3D printed stuff, foamcrafting, plaster casting and all manner of terrain building techniques.

28mm Finnish War 1808-1809: Russians for Sharp Practice

I've had these around for a few years now without much progress but now that my son has been into Napoleonics and started painting some Perry French I decided to finally get a set finished for sharp practice. Figures are by Brigade Games and they match up with my Perry Savolax Brigade nicely.

Amon Hen table complete

My Amon Hen table is now complete with a hill and some scatter terrain. I might tinker with it some more but I'll call it done at this point.

The Nine have left Minas Morgul

"Nine Rings for mortal men doomed to die.."

Here's one of those figure sets that don't really make sense from a tabletop gaming point of view. There's no real reason to field all the ringwraiths but they are very, very nice figures!

Lotr orcs

Well what do you know? More orcs?

I had six of the original metal ones which were lovely to paint as old LOTR metals are, and I also got a bunch of the plastic ones I bought already painted to an ok standard, I just had to finish the bases to fit my armies. I have quite a few baddies to conquer Middle Earth now.

The long dark of Moria

I finished terrain and figures to play some Mines of Moria scenarios. Lots of work on foam and 3D printed parts. I even painted a bunch of Moria goblins which I was until lately very much determined not to do. I really don't like the sculpts at all. The original cave troll was decent, but the bulging eyes was something I'm not a fan of. Luckily I had an Isengard troll head I could swap the original one to, ending up with a much nicer figure.
