I bought some of the tufts Silflor sells a while back and have been waiting for something to use them on. I painted a goblin catapult model I had lying around so I could stick some tufts and other basing materials on it. What do you think? Too much? I've always had trouble doing realistic looking ground cover on my minis.
I like these tufts, especially the flowering bushes and the yellowish, dry grass.

The eternal city
I got a chance to visit Rome for a good couple of hours during a working trip to Sardegna last month. Thought I'd share a couple of pics.
A compulsory pic of the Colosseum. It was a weekday and maybe 11pm, but the site was still quite crowded, especially by american youths. |
I couldn't get into the old Roman center so I looked at it over the fence. Forum Romanum, the center of power for the Roman empire, is somewhere in the back. |
The statue is new, but I thought I got a good composition for this. The Moon, Saturn and Spica shine in the sky close to each other. Portentous! |
Fontana di Trevi. Only after my trip I heard you're supposed to toss a coin in to ensure you visit the citta eterna again. |
